Astrology-001: The Fundamentals of Astrology

Astrology-001 is a gentle, 8-week long, grounded introduction to astrology designed for those who are curious about the stars but aren’t looking to practice professionally—just yet. This course won’t offer a certification, but it will offer understanding, perspective, and tools to explore astrology for your personal growth and insight.

We’ll move through the foundations of astrology in a way that is approachable and supportive. Whether you’re brand new or have dabbled here and there, this course is a safe space to begin developing your astrological language.

Week 1: The History & Purpose of Astrology

We’ll begin with an overview of astrology’s roots—from ancient Mesopotamia to modern times. You'll gain clarity on the many branches of astrology and how they’ve evolved. Most importantly, we’ll explore what astrology is for—why humans have always turned to the stars.

Week 2: The 12 Signs of the Zodiac

Understand the essence of each zodiac sign and how their qualities influence character and expression. We’ll cover elements, modalities, planetary rulerships, and how signs show up in real life.

Week 3: The Planets

Explore the core planetary bodies in astrology—their archetypes, meanings, and roles in your chart. From the personal planets to the outer generational ones, we’ll begin to build your astrological vocabulary.

Week 4: Calculated Points

In this week, we’ll dive into meaningful mathematical points that shape a chart: the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, IC, Lunar Nodes, and more. You’ll learn how they add nuance and direction to an astrological story.

Week 5: The 12 Houses

Learn how the chart is divided and what each house represents in the context of daily life. We’ll cover how planets in houses influence areas of life such as career, relationships, and spirituality.

Week 6: Traditional Aspects

This week focuses on the angular relationships between planets. You’ll learn how conjunctions, oppositions, trines, squares, and sextiles reveal harmony, tension, growth, and patterns in a chart.

Weeks 7 & 8: Chart Analysis & Practice

The final two weeks will be interactive and hands-on. We’ll analyze the charts of volunteers (mentees) in class using the tools you’ve learned. This is your chance to practice observation, ask questions, and build confidence.
